DTF Anti-Sublimation Hotmelt Powder

This grey polyurethane-based DTF hot-melt adhesive powder has been developed for transfers onto sublimated polyester and other coloured synthetic textiles where dyes may migrate into the transfer.

The grey colour creates an additional barrier between the textile and the print, helping to reduce unwanted discolouration of the transfer. The powder is suitable for use with an automatic powder shaker and curing oven.

As the final result depends on the transfer film, ink, textile and machine settings used, we always recommend carrying out a production test first.

Instructions for use

1. Apply the powder evenly to the DTF ink while it is still wet.
2. Carefully shake off any excess powder from the transfer film.
3. During processing, switch off the powder-recovery suction system of the powder shaker if it spreads the grey powder across the film.
4. Always keep the required safety extraction and ventilation systems switched on.
5. Start with an oven temperature of approximately 130–140 °C.
6. Allow the powder to melt completely before the film leaves the oven. Powder that has not fully melted may come into contact with machine components, causing dark streaks or contamination.
7. Check that the adhesive surface has melted evenly before pressing the transfer.
8. Always carry out a test first and adjust the temperature, speed and dwell time to suit the machine and materials used.

Recommended pressing settings

• Temperature: 120–150 °C
• Pressing time: 8–15 seconds
• Pressure: 1–3 kg/cm²

The ideal settings may vary depending on the textile, transfer film and heat press used.

Important processing information

Whenever possible, use a separate powder shaker or a thoroughly cleaned powder system. Residues of grey powder may contaminate white or transparent DTF powder and become visible as grey specks in other transfers.

The settings stated above are guidelines. Always test the complete combination of film, ink, powder, oven, textile and heat-press settings before starting production.
