SEAQUAL® & TTS: Working Together for Cleaner Oceans
At TTS, we believe that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. That is why we continuously work to make our product range more sustainable. A key step in this effort is our partnership with SEAQUAL®, a global initiative that actively tackles plastic pollution in oceans, rivers, and coastal areas.
As an official SEAQUAL® licensee, we are part of an international community committed to collecting and reusing plastic waste. By converting this waste into high quality raw materials, it is given a second life in sustainable applications. This approach aligns seamlessly with our vision of circular materials and responsible product solutions.
From Ocean Plastic to Valuable Raw Material
Plastic pollution is a global challenge. SEAQUAL® focuses on collecting plastic waste from oceans, rivers, and coastal areas before it breaks down into harmful microplastics. This is achieved through an international network of local collection points and collaborations with fishermen and coastal communities, among others.
The collected plastic is cleaned, sorted, and processed into SEAQUAL® Marine Plastic. This material is then recycled into high quality textile fibers. In this way, waste is reintroduced into the supply chain and transformed into valuable raw material for new applications.
Our Latest Display Fabric: SEAQUAL® Display 210 Recycled FR
We are proud to introduce our latest display fabric, SEAQUAL® Display 210 Recycled FR. This fabric has been specially developed for applications such as display textiles, banners, and soft signage.
The composition consists of 38% SEAQUAL® yarn and 62% recycled yarn. The SEAQUAL® yarn itself contains 10–15% recovered ocean plastic and 85–90% recycled PET from land-based sources. This combination results in a strong, stable and high-quality material that is perfectly suited for professional print and display applications. The quality and reliability you expect from polyester, such as durability, shape retention and versatility, are fully maintained.
USP’s:
- Made from ocean plastic
- Measurable environmental benefits
- Lower CO₂ emissions
- Same performance as traditional polyester
Measurable Environmental Impact
The use of SEAQUAL® yarn makes a measurable contribution to reducing environmental impact:
- Approximately 32 percent lower CO₂ emissions compared to traditional polyester
- 600 grams to 1 kilogram of ocean waste removed per kilogram of SEAQUAL® yarn
- Fully traceable material within a transparent supply chain
This is how we combine technical performance with a clear and measurable sustainability impact.
Forward Thinking Material Use
With SEAQUAL® Display 210 Recycled FR, TTS has chosen a practical and scalable approach to sustainable material use. By incorporating recycled polyester made from ocean plastic into our product range, we enable more conscious choices without compromising on quality or durability.
This collaboration demonstrates that circular materials can be applied in a realistic and effective way, with a focus on quality, functionality, and long-term sustainability.
