CO₂ impact calculation
How TTS Makes the CO₂ Impact of Its Products Transparent
More and more customers are asking us not only what we deliver, but also how sustainable our products are. A logical question and one we take very seriously at TTS.
That’s why we’ve laid an important foundation: we have made the CO₂ impact of our products transparent and measurable.
Cradle-to-gate
For our key products, we have systematically identified where emissions occur. This includes:
- The raw materials we use
- Energy consumption during production
- Transport movements
- Waste processing
Everything that significantly contributes to CO₂ emissions has been included. We call this a cradle-to-gate approach: from the beginning of the process to the moment the product arrives at our warehouse.
One clear result
All these elements are converted into CO₂ emissions and combined into one clear outcome: the carbon footprint per product, expressed in CO₂.
This allows us to make something complex like sustainability understandable, comparable, and transparent.
Based on international standards
In this approach, we follow internationally recognized guidelines such as ISO 14067. This means our calculations are:
- Reliable
- Compliant with laws and regulations
- Suitable for reporting, customer inquiries, and audits
No assumptions, just substantiated data.
Why we do this
We do this not only because it’s required, but mainly because it helps to:
- Inform customers better
- Support shared sustainability goals
- Enable more conscious decision-making
It also gives us insight into where we can take further steps to reduce our impact.
Working together to lower impact
For us, sustainability is not an endpoint, but a continuous process. By creating insight, we can improve more effectively together with our customers and partners.
Do you have questions about the CO₂ impact of specific products or would you like to include this in your own reporting? We’re happy to think along with you.
