DTF transfer paper – a paper-based alternative to DTF film

This DTF transfer paper is a paper-based alternative to traditional DTF transfer film with a PET carrier. It is suitable for producing full-colour DTF transfers on textiles and can be peeled while hot after pressing. Using paper as the carrier reduces the use of a plastic PET carrier within the DTF process.

Paper reacts differently to heat, moisture, ink and adhesive powder than DTF film. Modified process settings and a dedicated printer profile are therefore required.

Processing recommendations

1. Load the roll straight and horizontally into the printer. Incorrect alignment may cause feeding problems or wrinkling.
2. Switch off both the pre-heater and rear heater during printing.
3. Use less ink and adhesive powder than with standard DTF film. A dedicated printer profile is recommended.
4. As a starting point, use a pressing temperature of 155–165 °C and a pressing time of 5–10 seconds. Peel the paper while hot.
5. Regularly check that the paper feeds flat and straight through the printer. Stop immediately if it starts to wave, wrinkle or accumulate under the pinch rollers.

If problems occur, always check the roll alignment, printer heaters, ink load, powder quantity and ambient humidity. Before production, test the complete combination of printer, ink, powder, curing oven, heat press and textile.

Important

The product is paper-based but contains a functional coating. Without additional documentation, we cannot confirm that the transfer paper is recyclable, biodegradable or demonstrably more environmentally friendly than DTF transfer film.
