DTF Hotmelt Powder

Art. nr. DTF-PW-MD
This white polyurethane-based DTF hot-melt adhesive powder is suitable for producing standard DTF transfers. Its medium particle size makes the powder suitable for general use with automatic powder shakers and for manual application.

The powder combines good adhesion with softness and flexibility, making it suitable for various types of textiles, including stretch fabrics. According to the supplier, the powder offers excellent wash resistance at 40 and 60 °C.

As the final result depends on the transfer film, ink, textile and machine settings used, we always recommend carrying out a production test first.

Instructions for use

1. Print the design with DTF ink onto the designated side of the transfer film.
2. Apply the powder evenly while the white ink is still wet.
3. Carefully remove any excess powder using an automatic powder shaker or by gently tapping the film.
4. Allow the powder to melt completely in the curing oven. The adhesive surface should be evenly melted and free from loose powder residue.
5. Position the transfer on the textile and press it according to the recommended settings below.
6. Remove the transfer film according to the film manufacturer’s instructions: hot, immediately or after cooling.
7. If necessary, briefly press the transfer again to optimise adhesion and finish.

Recommended pressing settings

• Temperature: 120–150 °C
• Pressing time: 8–15 seconds
• Pressure: 1–3 kg/cm²

The correct settings may vary depending on the textile, transfer film and heat press. Start with the settings recommended for the transfer film and always carry out a test first.

Technical properties

• Colour: white
• Composition: polyurethane
• Particle size: medium
• Typical melting range: 110–120 °C
• Suitable for stretch fabrics
• Wash-resistant at 40 and 60 °C according to the supplier’s assessment

Storage and handling
